Hi All,

I have been asked to add to two extra trunks on a Panasonic KX-TD816 and I'm having trouble getting my head around how to program them. I have basically enabled them and added them to to trunk group 07 and 08 (because the existing 5 lines were in trunk groups 01 to 05 eg. CO01 in Trunk group 01, CO02 in Trunk group 02 etc. But no matter what I try I can't get the new lines to ring anywhere except on extension 214.
What I want is for CO06 and CO07 to ring the same as CO04, I have tried to mimic the settings for CO04 but it still only rings that one extension! Any help or ideas is much appreciated.

Summary of existing programing:

CO01 -07 in trunk groups 01-07 (I added CO06 and CO07)

Ext 01-16 are all in group EG01

Programming Section 603:

Eveything is set to IMD

Programming Section 407:

DIL 1:1 Disabled on all lines

Programming Section 620:

Disabled on all lines

There are no hunt groups set

All lines ring different extensions and CO06 and CO07 only ring 1 extension.

Thanks in advance,
Del

Day 603 for ring "Imm". Delay..No Ring or disable

Night 604

it will for jack or ext you want the rings

no ring will let you know that incomming CO Line you can pickup

In 603 & 604 all Jacks/Extensions are set to 'Immdt' on CO06 & CO07 yet when ringing in on those lines only Ext 214 rings and no others, how do I get them all to ring?

Del

Must be something simple. Is the system in day mode, or did you also program the corresponding night mode? How about 409 and 410?
Since these are new trunk groups, you may have something in there.
Also, try changing the new trunks to TG1 and see if that makes it work. It would eliminate a TG problem.

Yes it is in day mode, (although night is programmed the same)
407/408/409/410 are all set to disabled.
I tried putting the new trunks in TG1 and TG2 but nothing changes they still only ring Extension 214.
I have no idea why its doing this!
Thanks again,
Del

are you programming through the handset or with a program tool? if using a tool is it the dos version.

does the co flash when incoming call on other phones or on solid.

try a power cycle, sometimes it helps

I am programming through the handset.
The co does not flash on any other phones on the new lines.

OK, I have now reached the point of despair! So I have done a system reset and programmed the trunks and extensions from scratch and it is all working OK. I don't know why I couldn't get CO06 and CO07 to do anything I wanted them to do and I probably never will! So thanks to all the people that tried to help me with this.

Regards,
Del

DIL 1:1 will override anything set in ringing. My guess is you had something hidden in 603 and 604. The other suggestion would have been to zero out those registers (using the * command to select all) and see if it cleared it out.

Initializing worked better :)
