i have Panasonic KX-NS500 and Elastix server. i want to ude the Panasonic as a PSTN gateway only. can i do that using SIP trunking ? and how ?

thanks in advance

I have connected a Panasonic KX-TDA200 to a 3CX Phone system and to an Asterisk.
You should be able to do the same.

All i did was to plug the analog extensions from the TDA200 into a PSTN VoIP Gateway. The extensions from the TDA200 plugged into the VoIP Gateway became trunks to the 3CX Phone system or Asterisk and i could dial from 3CX/Asterisk direct to any extension on the TDA200 or even make outbound calls via the Trunks connected to the TDA200 (Trunks from the service provider connected to the TDA2000)

Maybe you could create a SIP extension for each PSTN line on the NS500 then tell each line to go to their respective ext (eg Line 1 > Ext 200, Line 2 > Ext 201 etc.) Then using the settings for these extensions go to your Elastix box and create a SIP trunk for each one. Then when a call comes in to the NS500 it will ring the ext (trunk on the Elastix) and the Elastix will have the call.
