Hi Guys,

Trying to refresh my memory as haven't installed one in a while as being doing Avaya last few years mostly.. Anyway appreciate if anyone could answer the below?

- UM- System comes with DSP but you need SD card to Activate and use the 2ch built in UM is this still the case?
- SIP- Still come with 2 IP Trunk built in?
- SIP- Cant remember ever over coming the issue having to dial # to send calls out, any suggestions?
- Qsig to connect 2 PBX - This will work withe the built in IP Trunk CH?
- Can you still connect TVM if dont want to go down UM route as have loads spare kicking around stores..?
- CS- Licences needed or is it still the same with just Dig port needed for 2/4 wire cells?
- Call centre Package- What is needed to activate and use this feature? Is it any good?
- what is the oldest model of handset supported on the NS?

Thanks in Advance!!

Yes you need sd card

No sip licences just 4 ip extension licences

Interdigit timer can reduce timer but # dialls number straight away

Yes you can still put tvm on it with digital ports

Dect is best with dsp and IP cells. No licences needed if you just use the 4 channels licences needed to expand to 8 channnels

Nt 3 series will work

Call center is basic. We use commsoft

Cheers OBT appreciate it. Few more questions if you dont mind.

SIP- Anyway in ARS to insert local dial code to save cust dialing full number, do this all the time on IPO but as far as i know cant be done on Pana?

Expansion chassis- do they come as bare chassis then populate as needed, and do you need an expansion licence per addition chassis?

do you now need a 2way rec licence now for adhoc recording?

How many physical extn do you get out the box is it 2 alog and 2 dig?

Do you now get call queuing position and time to answer built into to queuing menu? Im sure i was told this would be the case by Panasonic a few years ago?

Does this all apply to 300/500 and 1000 also? Do you get much more out the box on the 1000?

Lastly as for IP DECT does this consume an IP licence per Cell? so if i had 4 cells this would use all 4 built in IP extension licences? Concurrent calls are not based on licencees ie if i had x2 4ch i could have 8 concurrent calls in total yes? Do you need the licence for an 8ch Dig Cell?

RS232 Conn is still there right which can be used for SMDR ?

UC Mobile app, is this only compatible with the NSX?

Thanks again and apologies for all the questions!

Yes you can insert prefix , I would use dial plan if you do not need ARS

NS 700 comes with 2 digital and 4 analogue phone ports and you can add 2 extension cards and 2 line or 1 line and 1 door phone card(2 small cards and 2 large card slots) DSP gives you 128 IP (4 licences on board add as needed but you will need expansion licence to go above 32 IP or add any expansion boxes) other licences needed is 2 way record and vm to e-mail

you can get a licence for call queue announce, you will need SD card and dsp if you want more than 2 channels simultaneous messaging

number 1 in queue is when all members are busy/logged out

we don't have the 300, the 500 is the same as the 700 just different country. The 1000 is totally different and has only 1 slot for either 4 bri and 2 analogue lines. I pri and 2 analogue phones or 2 legacy gateway to connect 2 x NCP or TDE to it

IP cell stations do not use any licences for 4 channels per unit( 4 calls at a time) . you will need a licence per cell station to expand that to 8 channels on the unit ( 8 calls per cell station)

No serial port, IP for smdr, you can get a usb to serial port, never used it as most software will connect through telnet

If that is the Poltys app, that will work with the NS700 too. it is a third party software. not sure if Panasonic are still supporting it

Any more info I will have to charge :)

Huge thanks OBT, you will be glad to know that is all the info i require!! ;) Cheers.

Hi OBT

Do you know the best way to test SMDR output? tried connecting via putty on smdr port 2300 but connection gets denied also tried RS232 with null modem cable and no output. all options set to print but nothing.

Traditional Dig cell station still work on ns? I tried to change port type even on an ncp to CS as i remember but no option there..? also on traditional dect to go from 4ch to 8 we need to wire another dig port to the cell right ie 2 ports to the one 8ch cell?

Cheers

Telnet is the best, when you connect you hit return type SMDR, it should prompt for password, default is PCCSMDR
if you do this wrong you will have to wait 10 minutes or restart the system.

Cell stations (2 channel ) will work but only 5 or 6 of them, you don't change to cs, it will detect it and setup automatically
no 4 channel wired units unless you you use the IP cell stations and with extra licence can expand to 8 channel. it works out cheaper too.
