PalmT3 sync problem

I'm setting up a new PalmT3 for one of our employees. We sync our calendars with a different conduit than Palm, but this hasn't been a problem with any others Palms I've set up, so I doubt it's the problem now.

When I try to HotSync, it starts, then interrupts with this message:

HotSync operation started 01/03/06 12:02:23
HotSync Error:
An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)
HotSync operation complete 01/03/06 12:02:23


The Palm Desktop provides no information, nor does the website, and I have no idea what 8009 means. Can anyone help?

Not sure if you're still having this problem, but 8009 points to a conflict with hotsync trying to sync with a program that doesn't exist or doesn't have a registry entry.

Happily, Palm have a wee utility for troubleshooting this:

An alternate method (manual) is listed here, though you'll have to make adjustments for modern Palms, as US Robotics don't make Palms anymore..
