I think you're in the wrong forum - this is the one for Windows-based devices.
I don't know how non-Windows devices connect and sync but with the Windows ones the PC-based syncing software keeps a list of devices by name. If you had two PDA that both had the same name (mine defaulted to 'Pocket_PC', so it's reasonable to assume that others might use the same) then the PC would get confused because both would appear to be the same device.
Hopefully that's some use!
