pajamahadeen: bloggers who challenge and fact-check traditional media.

Can you find or make up an amusing word like that one? Don't forget to include the definition.

It would also be interesting to include the etymology of the word. Who first coined pajamahadeen?

Good Luck

According to this site, the word was coined by Jim Geraghty, who runs "The Kerry Spot" blog for National Review online.

Jonathon Klein, a former 60 Minutes executive, was apparently on Fox News complaining about the fact that bloggers had been the first ones to point out that the National Guard memos used by 60 Minutes had probably been created using Microsoft Word. Klein's comment characterized a typical blogger as "some guy sitting around in his pajamas, writing what he thinks."

Geraghty coined the term "pajamahadeen" in response, and has been using the term regularly in his blog.

"Pajamahadeen" has apparently won out over "pajamarine" in popularity.

vujade (pr: vu-zha-day). I coined this one years ago.

This is the feeling you get when you are almost certain you had the same "deja vu" before.

What do you know? It seems I was not the only one to think this one up:

From Client Server VuJadeNote: VuJade (a Lotus creation) is a variant of DejaVu. Def: “I’ve been there before but I didn’t like it then either!”
