Painfully slow spooling graphic intensive statements

I need to embed a front-back graphic (two graphics) on all of my statements. This is a full page graphic so the sooled output is trying to save 8.5 x 11 x 300^2 x 3 bytes per side (300 DPI).

This is going to a PDF using the standard Crystal PDF output DLLs.

Crystal 9.

I'd like to embed a single copy of the graphics. This is doable via straight PDF programming, but the Crystal spooler does not seem to want to take advantage of this capability.

Any ideas?

Only via post post-export processing of the pdf. I have something similar implemented, so I can vouch for the fact that it's a viable approach.

- Ido

view, email, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

I'm moving quickly that direction - and I can do it. (I have done PDF generation and modification programatically.)

Nevertheless, I'm curious about the libraries / tools that you used.
