I posted a post earlier but I wanted to try again., we have a nor star meridian phone system (3x8) i think.. We saw our friends system same as ours, and they were able to dial 8#0 to page to all zones, is there any way to set that up .. We want to be able to use a code like 8#0 or 8** etc to page

It sounds like they may have trunk paging set up...

Sounds like the other office is connected to a Paging Controller which is in turn connected to an external line port on the Norstar system.

It sounds like the user dials 8 to get an outside line which connects to dialtone on the PA system and then you dial #0 to access all zones, and maybe #1 to access zone 1, etc.

I've never been able to find a way to dial an access code such as 60 to dial into the built in Norstar paging system. You have to use the Feature button first.

Now with that said, I've once seen a Marshalls store connected to a 3rd party paging system using the Norstar Feature 62 paging code....I don't know how that bridged that one.

the Valcom 24V system, usually requires a line card port thus programming 8 then you can use 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, assuming you have a multi zone Amp.
I'm not sure but I think on the 70V amp then the Feature key works, where a line card is not needed.

The 24v Valcom works with either trunk paging or coming off the paging port of the system...Valcom's biggest limitation is the 250ma PS will only support 3 1030c horns, where, the 600ma PS will support up to ten horns...any more than that and you want to go with an amp...

I believe with Valcom you must do a power consumption use off their charge and if need more horns you install one of their power boxes to give you more juice
