Paging with Wireless Speaker

Hey I have my BCM and UCx connected to a TOA amplifier for overhead paging and music.

I have standard speaker wire connected to the back of the speaker outputs on the back of the amplifer.

My question, is it possible to attach a bluetooth wireless speaker and somehow bridge those old school speaker wires to something that will fit into a bluetooth adapter?

So to clarify, you want to use the output of the TOA to drive a bluetooth adapter, that plays to the wireless speaker and to the existing speakers? And if so, are the existing using the direct output, of the 25/70V?

Yes, they are using the direct output of the 25/70V.

I heard back from TOA, that all I need to do is plug a bluetooth transmitter into the AUX OUT female port on the back of the amplifier and then pair it with a bluetooth speaker. Sound simple enough Budbyrd? Sounds too easy for me......

Nope, sounds exactly right if it has an aux out. I didn't look up the amp to see what you could do with out knowing what you wanted to do. If it didn't have the aux out they make adapters that you can connect to the speaker output of a 25/70v to go to a line level out.

Thank you Bud, Now I just need to find a trasmitter and speaker or two speakers.......there are too many choices.

Remember however that Bluetooth is only good for 30 feet or so.

Thank you, yes I tried it out, and the TOA amplifier drained all of the other outputs in order to put power through to the Aux Output that I had the bluetooth adapter installed to.

Really not a good solution, I should just probably run a speaker cable to where we want the music.

Now if someone made a bluetooth transmitter that accepted a a pair of speaker cable wires, that might be worth trying. Then I could take a speaker wire connection out of the TOA and into the transmitter and set up the speaker that way. But I haven't found anything like that.

You can use a transformer to do this - just like any transformer on any 70V speaker (assuming 70v). In the end, running a cable is a sure bet. We like sure bets.

I like sure bets and sure awesome sound quality. That TOA amplifier sure works well with a SNOM PA1 paging and Nortel BCM paging output paging. They make a good product. Thanks guys.
