Does anyone have any experience with paging with IP speakers/horns/door phones? I have a customer that insists on IP paging. We have installed the following Valcom equipment:
VIP-821 Enhanced Network FXO
VIP-160 Talkback Speakers
VIP-130-LM Horn
VIP-172L-VRSS Intercom
We have two issues. First, the intercom will not ring into a phone or hunt group. It appears to go off hook since the red light is flashing but no phones ring. There is a DevConnect document that outlines everything and it has been followed exactly. In Monitor, the device will not register. Since this is a SIP extension I don't know if I need SIP endpoint licenses, but the document does not indicate a 3rd party license is needed.
The second issue is that we are unable to have simultaneous paging through phones and speakers. This seems to be likely due to the fact that the VIP-821 requires a call group to page multiple devices. Currently, they are having to do separate paging through phones and speakers which is inconvenient.
If anyone has recommendations on how to accommodate what is requested I would greatly appreciate any input.
