Looking for tips to get paging to both phones and overhead working on a single page button or short code.

Has anyone been able to get this to work successfully and if so how?

How is your paging attached to the IPO, analog extension or analog trunk?

Currently trunk, but could be either. When connected to a station port the group page has different results including just not working at all.

If you can make it a station, then i would.....

Create that anolog user for paging.

Create a "PageAll" Hunt Group

Add all the phones to the "PageAll" Hunt Group

Add the analog extension to the "PageAll" Hunt Group

Create a button for Group Paging >Action Data will be "PageAll"

I am kind of going off of memory here so if doesnt work the first time, play with it a little.

Well let me back up a bit. I apologize for the lack of information in the beginning.

Here is an example of what I did:
Extn201 (Paging Speaker, set as such in Extensions)
Extn203 (5410)
Extn204 (5410)

Hunt Group 290 (Collective, no VM, no queuing)

Shortcode *70, Group Paging, 290

Dialing *70 from any phone does not work to page both 201 (analog paging speaker) and the digital phones. It either doesn't work at all or pages one or the other.

Removing 201 or 203 & 204 from the hunt group causes the *70 short code to function as expected.

be sure you don't have caller id or MWI turned on for the paging extension...set to page port.

others have posted on here that they have had to set the analog paging user to "off hook station" and put an analog phone in line with the UPAM in a permanent off-hook setup. I personally have never had to do this though.

are you using a UPAM?

By "collective" you mean you have the hunt group set to "Group" ring? Group ring should be selected. disable call waiting for this group, if enabled.

what version are you running. it could just be a bug.

I'll check the MWI setting and will look at the other settings as mentioned.

We are using 4.0 although we have the same issue in 3.2. And yes, in 4.0 they have changed "Ring Group" to "Collective", sorry about that.

Hi,
Good post, I have never found a way to do this, but there seems to be hope.
I noticed that you are ACE certified.
I'm going for my test in Aug.
Any helpful hints?
Thanks

Relax. It isn't a difficult test if you know IP Office and the applications. I had already done both of the technical ACS certs as well as the design so it was really just a re-hash of what was already learned.
