Hi,

I have an overhead speaker with amp working as an analog station in our warehouse. I also have a paging group setup to page everyone in the building and have added the analog station for the speaker to this group. It does not work when paging, I assume because the IPO doesn't recognize it as having a speaker phone. Is there a way to make this work so that when they page the group it will also page the speaker also?

Thanks.

If existing is a "station level paging adapter" - (you ring the analog extension and it answers, connecting to amplifier - then it won't work as a member of hunt group. Will only work if analog station is configured as paging speaker and hooked into amp line-level input (with page adapter or isolation transformer in middle)

Could you give me more specifics as to what specific pieces of equipment is needed to make it work that way?

Have to hook an analog phone to the analog port you assigned as a paging "extension" then go off hook and reboot the control unit. Assuming if you haven't done that yet.

FoxIPO however has asked, explin your equipment a little more in detail if my suggetion doesn't make sense or work.

What do you have between the extension port and the amp??

I didn't install it so I'm not sure what it's called. I'll check it out tomorrow, it's in a different building.

Thanks.

Is what you are suggesting a way to trick the system into working with my existing equipment?

Hi guys,

I now have more information as to what I have now:
Bogen TAM B telephone access module
Radio Shack PA Amplifier MPA-50 outputing to 2 overhead speakers

Any ideas how I can make the paging group work with this equipment?

Thanks.

you need to hook you power supply on the bottom pins of the TAM B for the power. then i think the set of pins in the middle are for the paging spearks/horns, then i believe you connect the phone system to the top pins. all the pins i am talking about on the TAM B should be labeled, i just dont have one in front of me to be %100.

If the ONLY input to the amp is the IP Office (no background music, etc) - then you can remove the TAM B and simply use an isolation transformer between IPO station port and input to amp. If you want to use the TAM B - you'll need to reconfigure it as if you were using a "page port" from phone system. This will require power supply since you're no longer using an analog station port in the classic sense. Manual for TAM B can be found at:
