Hi hope someone can help.

We have a CS1000M (OPT61) running 4.5s/w. We need to connect a paging system to the pabx. Can a MIRAN card act as an interface for this? If not what other hardware woudl I require?

Thanks for your responses.

Regards

Only if you are doing station level paging will you need a paging adapter. Trunk level paging pipes straight into a paging amp, no adapter required.

pronei: What do you mean by Station level paging?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated.

Station level = when dialing an analog (2500) set that is directly connected to a valcom paging adapter and then connected to paging amp. This method allows you to use your analog station card and analog ism's for paging. This method also works well if you want to page over IP and you have a Quintum Tenor or Audio Codes box connected via SIP or H323 on the far end.

Trunk level = when dialing the acod of an PAG route that has a trunk built on a XUT and directly connected to a paging amp. This method does not cost any ism's but does cost a XUT port.

I currently use both methods of paging. If you want details of config for either scenario I'd be happy to post.
