We have a customer who has a 4 site IP Office network (assume SCN). They are experiencing an issue with multi site paging. Note, all paging is done via phones – there are no overhead speakers.

The customer has 2 types of page codes:
1. a page to a single site
2. a page to all (4) sites

The page to a single site, works as intended. Each of the phones at the site receive the page via the phone’s speaker.

The page to all (4) sites, is not working correctly. The intended outcome is for all speaker phones connected at the 4 sites to get the page. Currently, all phones ring and each of the 4 IPOs need to be reset to clear the condition.

I need to verify:
1. Does IPO support concurrent paging to multiple network connected IPO’s (e.g., as in the “page to all sites” above)?
2. If supported, why i am experiencing this error.

Thanks

SCN does support multi-site Paging. What software version are you on? Are all users in a central paging group? How is the Paging done, via shortcode or a programmed button?

@IPOLackey, thanks for your reply.

but i called to one of the Avaya solution provider company for support. they said that SCN does not support multi-site paging. they are suggesting me that i need to get a trird party module (VALCOM) to make it work. I do not have the detail information. i am just verifying the clue. is it possible to do via short code? what will be the configuration if i set all users on central paging group. could you please help me out?

Thanks

@IPOLackey
1)7.0.42

2) The customer does want all users in a central paging group, so they can page all user at all sites at one time.

3)The paging is done via short codes.

4)All sites need to page all others, including their own at one time.

these are the info i gave got. hopefully it will help to find a solution.

Thanks

Create all page groups on the main site.
On the remote site create a shortcode

So say your page group is 100

Create a shortcode on the main site *99100/Dial Paging/0
Create a shortcode on the remote sites *99100/Dial/XXX (XXX is the outgoing group id of the H323 line)
