Setup is 40 Digitals set and 20 IP1230 sets (remote)

WAN is direct in BCM Lan1(Public fis IP)

Everything works local Digital & IP sets, but remotely only the paging feature does not work. We hear the paging aknowlagement (beeeeep) but no voice is going thru.

What is weird is that voicecall works as well as intercom, music (ambient), intercom between remote sites

Please tell me what I am missing here...

UPDATE FROM CUSTOMER, MUSIC (F86) does not work it only says music on music off but no music.

Seems like an IP tranlation not working... how Do I fix that

Antoher indication...... I notice that paging is blocked by our router... as soon as I place the BCM over the same network (same router as the phone) it works.... but as soon as I put a phone behind a different router... I loose the paging... is there a port forwarding I can setup

Is your set-up as follows:
IPphone--LAN--Router--WAN--Router--LAN-BCM
Because if it is, the BCM doesn’t allow "WAN VoIP" paging only “LAN VoIP” and I haven’t heard anything different with the newer releases. I know this might sound stupid, VoIP is VoIP but Nortel never addressed this issue. You will need a VoIP page unit like Valcom makes, which is a very nice VoIP page unit-check it out.
I've have also used a Bogen TAM-B connected to an ATA to page remote sites. Only requirement is having an external overhead paging unit at the site. You call the ATA, it answers and passes the output through to the external paging system.

Our setup is different but I think it results will be the same, here is my setup;

1st cable modem > Private network

- - > BCM (public IP) > digital phone
2nd Cable modem > switch
- - > Router (public IP) > IP Phone

The goal is to separate the private network from the bcm and allow ip phone to connect directly without VPN.... and it works fine except paging. Since the ip phones are not on private network voice quality is much better as it use to be all on the same network before this move.

FYI..... there is a total of 20 IP phones, employees are taking their phones home and they travel with their phones, so the paging feature is extremely important as well as no needs to setup a VPN on each remote site since they change location every day...

I think for it to work the way you want, you will need to buy the Remote Teleworker license. For your system, the part you want to order is NAT Traversal. I have a few IP sets set up in my house from 3 different customers in the way you have it set up and I get paging accross all of them. Customer's systems are all 450 R6 as well. Ports forwarded at their end are 7000-7002 and 60000-60099. If you want EM access, forward 5989 while you're at it.
