I am using the Partner II release 4.1 phone system. When someone pages all extensions on our phone system and another person picks up the phone during the page, the page gets cut off and is only heard on the hand set of the person who picked up the phone. How can I prevent this from happening? I want the page to continue to all phones regardless if someone picks up their phone.

Thanks for the help!

Soupmix,

That's the way the system works. there is not much you can do about it. You can have the person who wants to make a call press an available line button, before picking up while a page is in progress.

It's called a "meet-me" page. It allows you to find your party by page and then drop out of page to a private intercom call when they pick up.

One man's feature is another man's bug.

The only way to thwart the feature is to install overhead or ceiling speakers and an amp and do a intercom 70, using the page port. It cannot be intercepted.

You could try dialing *70, which is simultaneous page (everyone in group 1 and external), even though you don't have external paging hooked up, and see if the "meet-me" feature is blocked. I don't know for sure, it's just a theory.

Nope, it will still intercept and drop out. If there's one small group of culprits who just will not learn to look and listen before picking up, you could always exclude them from the calling group.
