I have a Paging group set up with 12 phones. I have received complaints it takes up to 20 seconds for system to set up page call on UCX50. I have force set to no and am using 1120 and 1140 phones. Is there a way to speed this up?

Have you tried setting it to force if busy? It might be waiting for a busy set to become idle before allowing the page.

Are the phones using Unistim or SIP firmware?

Does the system have DNS entries configured, but no access to the internet? There can be a delay as long as 20 seconds if the DNS servers are incorrectly configured.

I have no DNS configured. I am looking into setting up a FQDN now because I believe that is causing another issue with system update giving name resolution error. Could this affect Paging?

The updates definitely need a dns configured as they use names for many of the repositories. I like to use 8.8.8.8 (googles dns server).

The FQDN may make the IT admin happy, it really won't help with any of the issues you are experiencing.

Set up the DNS server and if you continue to experience delay issues with paging, please open a trouble ticket with E-MetroTel

The dns server helped. I also ended my page access code in #. I use 601 for access and set keys to 601#
