What would cause a paging speaker to recently develope a feedback problem when making a page from the Handset. The speaker was moved farther away...turned down....replaced. The system prior was a Vodavi and has since been changed to a MICS when the customer said they then noticed the problem. The phone is a T7100. The problem is only caused by the one phone closest to the speaker 20 feet away in an enclosed phone closet. Any ideas on how to resove this would be great....short of putting in a paging recorder. Also is ther an after market digital feedback eliminator?

I believe Valcom and viking electronics make a feedback eliminator. Without eliminator you need to adjust page volume on speaker or move farther away from phone causing feedback.

Good Luck!!

Also you may want to check what the speaker is tapped at. If you are using a 25 or 70 volt system, verify the speaker is rated for it, and see if it's not tapped too high. Normal for an office is about 1.5 to 2 watts. If you have a mis match speaker, EX: A 25 volt speaker on a 70 volt system, it will be louder then a 70 volt speaker on a 70 volt system, likewise a 70 volt speaker on a 25 volt system will be lower. Hope this helps.
