Is there a way to make the IP sets and Digital Sets Page at the same time? The page tone comes out immediately on the Digital sets upon pressing the Page Key, but comes out 4 seconds later on the IP sets....this can be aggravating in an environment where people need to make pages fast, such as a retail store.

This is a BCM 50 RLS 6 with a mix of digital/IP 11xx sets.

Thank you!

There's no way that i know to remove that delay, delay usually vary with the traffic on the network.
In store retail we use the page port with overhead speakers so that it's quick with no delay.

On the earlier versions there was a patch that made the digital and IP sets page at the same time.
Check the latest patches.

Hi Cook,

Thank you for your response. Any chance you could give me a rough estimate of when the patch was issued or even a smart update ID?

I would of thought since there was a problem on earlier versions they would of built that into the s/w. I looked at the last patch that is system update 2 and it does not say anything about paging delay.

My system is maxed out, I wonder if it's a bandwidth issue. It worked fine on RLS 5 but when I upgraded to RLS 6 and added all of the maxed out keycodes to the system, the delay started happening. It's really not a big deal as I mostly have IP sets....but I can imagine in a large retail store or car dealership etc.

If you page Feature 610 from an 11xx IP set, you'd have the page tone go off on digital phones and you'd start talking, but your voice won't come out of the speakers until the second beep comes out over the IP phones.

Conversely if you press the Page button on the digital set and dial Feature 630 with ALL-SPKR, the overhead Loudspkr comes on immediately but the IP phone speakers are delayed by 4 seconds.

This is quite annoying. I have someone at Avaya looking into it, we'll see what they say as well.

Thank you again.

Sorry I mean to say if you press the Page Button or Dial Feature 630 on the Digital set. None of this makes sense, sorry for my mumble jumble.....lol.
