A school wants all wifi phones, Approx 180 J129/J179 wifi phones and they want to be able to page them all at once. Assuming their wifi network is up to it, is this possible on a IP500v2. Any limitations on the IP500v2 or J1xx phones & wifi for paging groups?

IIRC, you are limited to 64 phones in a single paging group on an IPO 500V2 system.

Yes, the J129 can do wifi - but its a bit of a joke since it also needs PoE - even if that's done using just an injector, since it doesn't have a socket for a plug-top power supply. So basically it ends up a bit of a Frankenstein unless you can go for a true PoE connection in which case why the wifi. At least the J179 can be powered using a plug-top supply so can be effectively used as a wifi connected device in locations where a LAN ports aren't handy.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Wasn't aware of the no 5v plug on the J129, POE only. Yep J179 all the way. Thx for the info!
