Pages printed on hp9000 connected to AIX

We have a requirement to get the page count after printing a job to reconcile with the number of pages we expect.

Accessing the printer web pages shows this info but is there a way to obtain it via a Unix script ? I tried telneting the printer but there does not seem to be an option that shows the page count
