I am using an Epson dot matrix printer.

When I was using windows 98 on my old computer I was able to print 3 pages per sheet without a problem using Lotus smartsuite in a mail merge with approach database.

I bought a new computer with xp on it and I have a problem. I cannot print the 3 pages per sheet correctly. After every page which is 1/3 sheet the printer advances to the end of the full sheet, leaving two 1/3 sections blank.

What I am wondering is whether I could use the Access database to print the sheets correctly? Will access print 3 pages per
sheet without advancing incorrectly?

I am using perforated paper that divides the sheet into 3 parts and this is a big problem to me.

Thank You Merv

Define the paper size to equal the 3 slips in the Print server properties of the Windows Printers folder (File\Print server). Make sure that in the Print server you set your margins to 0.

You will have to tinker with the design size, as well as the Page setup when in the report's design mode, ie: margins etc.

I often do this in cases similar to yours, and I do it with VBA code in the format details section of the report by advancing to a new page after 3 records, using the modulus of 3 of the record count.

Thank you Ineuw.

As far as I know I have done as you say and it works in my old computer setup using wordpro and approach database. That is using windows 98. Every page prints out nicely in order.

In my new computer with windows xp, using the same programs and setup, it will not print more than one third page per sheet. It prints one and moves ahead two. I think I have looked at every setting I know of and cannot figure out why. I saw something on the web about some kind of incompatibility between Lotus Approach and xp. I don't know if that is the problem.

MY thought is that maybe if I switched to Access I could make it work just printing it as a report, but I am not sure about whether it will work. I am using a dot matrix printer. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks Again, Merv
