For some reason with vertical option for page icons, all of the page icons are shifted far right in the palette - especially with facing pages. When vertical is unchecked, I have no scroll to go to the pages in the palette - they just keep going but I can only see the first three spreads. Mac OS 10.4.7, G5 tower.

Ideas?

thanks,
Donna

...have you tried resetting your preferences?

...the shortcut is to hold down Shift+Option+Command+Control whilst Indesign is launching...

...you will lose document presets and print presets when doing this, make sure they are backed up somewhere if you use these functions before resetting...

Also...repair permissions. You want to do this once a week anyway, but I always do it when things are just not acting right. If my Mac's been running for quite some time, and especially if InDesign has been running forever, too...I do a full shut down, then restart, then repair permissions, then I run MacJanitor. Doing the shutdown clears out a lot of caches. Another culprit can be font caches, and using a tool like Tweak Freak (or ControlFreak...it was one name, then changed to the other...can't remember which way) to clear those caches really helps.

Trashing prefs worked it out. Nice to know a shortcut, andrew.

We do the permissions often in our dept.

I'll remember the other tips if it comes back.

Thanks,
Donna
