I have several users, some using IE 5.5 and some using IE 6. Occasionally when they type an address or select one from their favourites list IE loads a completely different page.

Initially I thought this might be a virus, but I have checked and we are bang up-to-date with dat files. I have tried deleting temporary internet files (including offline content) and deleting cookies, closing IE and starting it again but the only thing that actually works is restarting the computer.

All users are running W2K and the sites that don't work are not the same for different users and not the for the same user the next time it happens. Similarly the sites that do load when it goes wrong are different each time too.

Any Ideas?

Thanx

Sounds like a DNS caching problem on your server. Try flushing the DNS cache on each machine locally by running this command from a shell:

ipconfig /flushdns Nate Gagne
nathan.gagne@verizon.net
