I want to have some landscape pages and some portrait pages in my newsletter. How can I acheive this?

One way would be to compose the landscape page in Word or other application, print the page as a PDF file, save the page as TIF (use Acrobat Standard or Pro), then import the TIF into the publisher and let it become the main image on the page. Leave room for your normal footer if you need to.
It's interesting that Word lets you rotate your text, but Publisher does not.

Unfortunately you can't have mixed orientations in Publisher. What you could do is to create the "oddball" page in a separate file, select all, group, copy, paste in the main file, then rotate it. This would allow you to edit the info in the file, which you couldn't do if you pasted it in as a graphic.
