Sorry to post a question as my first post but I have found myself with a tricky problem. Amongst the windows network I support is a single Intel Mac running OSX.4 and InDesign CS3.

When printing our 40 page newletter to our Infotec ISC 2525 colour laser, we are having pages flip upside down within the job. I have tried updating the postscript driver but I am, afaik, on the latest driver.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Well, it's really your printer that's the problem here, I think. I don't know much about that printer but it seems it may have some binding setting on the top edge rather than the left edge or something? Therefore flipping the rotation of the pages to bind the printout, of course you don't want to do that. See if there is an option within your printer preferences to alter at which edge the page should be printed, and if there is any duplexing mode switched on.

Other than that you can print out all your odd pages and then print out all your even pages, reinserting the pages into the printer for the backup of the page.

Have you downloaded and installed the driver and utilities from Infotec for the Mac?

If you're printing directly from ID, there's a box at the bottom of the print window that takes you to the driver for the printer. "Flip" is a common setting for many printer drivers and that looks like you might be getting that.

You can also just export a pdf and see how that prints from Acrobat or Reader.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Exporting to pdf's print fine albeit in a lower quality. Printing the file via our PC version of ID works too but we don't have all the same fonts etc on the PC.

Oddly it is not the whole document but perhaps just a couple of pages that flip over.

The driver has been downloaded from Infotec

but we still have the same problem.

Thanks

Paul
