Some of our staff carry 1-800 pagers that you can not beep from a norstar phone.There are no restrictions on the lines you can call any local or toll number. When you dial a 1-800 to page a doctor you get a tone enter your call back number you get a confirmation tone and hangup but no page?

It sounds like you are not using DTMF. Are they loop start trunks?
You should make sure that DTMF is enabled. Other than that......i'm drawing a blank.

By getting the confirmation tone, it sounds like you are getting out ok and that you are actually DTMFing (new word)ok.
I even use speed dials with the proper pauses, pounds etc. for pagers and they work fine. Are you sure that you are going to the right pager?

Is the analog set also on the Norstar system, or is it going straight out to Telco?
Also, do you get the exact same digits in the window of your T7316 as what you dial? I ask because I have experienced sticky keys that blank a digit, or send multiple digits when you only want 1 digit.

duhh!!, me too. Guess the pagers that I call don't need long tones. just tried it again without long tones and it worked flawlessly from my system. Just goes to show that you can get toooooooo comfortable with some things or you forget.
Long tones are for a call by call basis only.
