I have a question regarding the numbering scheme(s). I'm in the process of creating a potential monster of a document. It is broken down into sections, subsections and at time subsections of those. The numbering scheme that needs to be used is 1.0, 2.0, 3.0... for the main sections (i.e. 1.0 INTRODUCTION, 2.0 EFFECTIVENESS ANALYSIS, 3.0 ACQUISITION ISSUES, etc.,) and then there are subsections under each of those that follow a 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 number scheme. I hope I'm being clear in this, without being overly wordy. I seem to be having a problem implementing this numbering scheme. And of course, the accompanying manual is of no help. So, in light of this I humbly ask..... HELP
It's best to make a series of publications and then pull them together into a "book" -- Pagemaker doesn't allow you to have but two "master" pages. We create documents in a wide range of page sizes and have found over the years, that making separate publications is best.
Do you know how to book-print?

You can always set your book up without these 1.1, 1.2 and etc. pages--and then insert them afterward via Page Insert command. When choosing book command you have to think in groups of four (4) pages at a time, otherwise the sequencing really gets messed up. Take a look at a book and how the page sequencing is setup. I do two bulletins; one with twenty (20) 5 by 8 1/2 inch pages--back to back; and one with ksixteen (16) 8 1/2 by 11 inch pages--back to back. When ever I have to add just two (2) pages, I opt to leave the inside of the front and back cover pages blank--which accounts for the required two additional pages. I suppose as a similar solution, you could have these blank pages inserted elsewhere in your publication to make up the four (4) page requirement. Good luck.
