I am trying to help a PM7 user and my major experience is with 6.5. The user needs to visually browse images before she places them. I realize that PM7 was designed to help the MSOffice-type of user. Does PM7 offer some sort of image browsing utility like the clipart viewer in MSWord?

The user is on Win98 so she can not use the new Explorer Thumbnail display in the newer Windows OSs.

Yes it does.
There is a menu window that opens showing a thumbnail of all the images in a specific folder.

To place an image you need only to drag it to the desktop.

While I seldom use it as most of the jobs I do don't have a huge number of images it would be great for anyone doing a catalog or something of that sort.

I'm not sure of the files types that are supported but I know that .AI and .Tif files are.

Where does this appear? I did not see it at first glance in the File>Place menu option.

Hi, jimoblak,

There's no preview of images with PM7, though InDEsgin offers this. The best I can offer is using your secondary mouse on the filename in the "Place" dialogue to open the file in whichever application it is associated with. :-(

There is not much difference to the user between PM6.5x and PM7 - PM7 could easily have been called PM6.6. The major difference besides an updated range of import filters and mail-merge is compatibiltiy with Win2K and WinXP.
