I clicked on a text block in my document and it doesn't show the font just the size. Also the fonts are no longer in alphabetical order. How do I get this back?

Which version of PM?
Mac or Win? Which version?

Do you mean the Type -> Font on the Menu bar?

1. Check File -> Document Setup and make sure the "Compose to" printer is valid.

2. Reduce the number of active fonts in Control Panel ->Fonts of about 100. Click here for more information

3. Re-create the PageMaker preferences files.

In Windows:

1. Quit PageMaker.
2. Locate the preferences files in the following location:
-- For PageMaker 7.0.x: Program Files/Adobe/PageMaker 7/Rsrc/[language] folder
-- For PageMaker 6.5x: Program Files/Adobe/Pm65/Rsrc/[language] folder
3. Rename the following preferences files (for example, rename 'Pm70.cnf' to 'Pm70.old').
-- For PageMaker 7.0.x: Pm70.cnf, Pm70filt.cnf, Pm70ppd.cnf, Pstyles.cnf
-- For PageMaker 6.5x: Pm65.cnf, Pm65ppd.cnf, Pstyles.cnf
4. Restart PageMaker.

In Mac OS:
1. Quit PageMaker.
2. Move the Adobe Pagemaker [version] Prefs file from Systems Folder:preferences to the desktop.
3. Restart PageMaker.

4. Search all folders using the string AdobeFnt*.lst

Delete all such files.
They will be re-created next time the Adobe Application is loaded.

It was the "compose to" printer validity. Thanks for your help.

The File>Document Setup>Compose to printer solution saved me. In my case when the "compose to printer" entry was incorrect, PageMaker was unable to find any of the fonts on my computer. The symptoms I saw were an Error message that read "Unable to find font - check font spelling", invalid names in my font pull down list (for example "Arial Greek") and an inability to change fonts in an existing PageMaker document. I believe the cause of my problem was that I changed computers (reloaded PageMaker 7.0) but left the default printer as "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer". Anyway, thanks for the huge assist.
