We have installed Pagemaker 6.5 (tried both + and regular versions) on new Dell Optiplex GX110's and found that Pagemaker hung on opening at the splashscreen for about 7 minutes during which the CPU use spiked to 100%. After much troubleshooting we discovered that the Audio driver (Creative PCI Audio Driver) seemed to be to blame - I can't find anything on the Adobe site to support this. Has anyone else had similar trouble? Is this a known issue?

We have the exact same problem. I have not been able to find any solutions yet, but will look into the Audio Driver you mentioned. Would you please share your work-a-round. Did you disable the audio drivers?

We disabled the audio driver in one case and it worked fine. We have also installed a different sound card which seems to have worked since the problem seems to be with this specific driver. Our biggest problem is that because we have leased machines we don't want to go around changing sound cards. I was hoping Adobe knew about this ( I find their site extremely frustrating) and had some update or something to fix the problem. I'm glad to hear that we're not the only ones though!! Good luck -
