Will Pagemaker allow for the saving of or exporting to pdf files?

Yes.

Best method is to 'print to file' after choosing a postscript printer (Distiller - which is supplied on the PM CD - is the best). This generates a postscript file. Then open Distiller and create the PDF from the postscript file. More info here:
