I visited a school today that uses PM 7.0 across a network. I had one problem after another with freezing and printing errors. I explained to the tech that I had read that PM did not like networks, but he assured me they had no problems with it.

One problem I saw involved a File> Print... where the computer kept trying to make me save the file as a pdf. What's that all about? I have never seen that before. When I tried to go forward with the pdf, it denied me access. Here's the real rub... I was logged on as an administrator!

I need to give the advisor some kind of answer before school starts, as their tech has no idea what is going on. He is new but all they have.

The computers are newer GX 260 Dells running win2000.

Thanks,

Daniel

Thanks, John. I will pass this info onto the network administrator for that school. It is a really small school, and I know they are not using a full time tech, but this info will help him greatly!

Hi, angler2229,

Basically, work locally and at the completion of your session, move/copy all the files to your network drive.

It may seem a nuisance, but it does make make managing backups easy.
