Help! I teach graphics at a high school, we also do production work internally. I prefer quark over pagemaker, but many files were previously created in pagemaker. I have a pagemaker file that I have been trying to create a booklet out of for 2 days now, which was suppose to go to press today. I have gone on adobes site and tried everything they said and to no avail.
Pagemaker 6.5 on the mac os9
Booklet
Error message 7125
40 pages.
I have gone over and over it. And can not seem to find the problem.

Would love to change it over to quark, but no money in the budget for out school.
Can anyone help, I have the file.

OK, the 'build booklet' function insists on not having ANY elements - graphics, text boxes, etc - overlapping any of the margins, gutters or whatever will be the final page size. If any elements do extend across final size page boundaries, the BB won't work. The solution is to find the culprits and for the purpose of BB, crop them (this retains everything). The BB function closes the originating documents (so save first) and opens a new document for the booklet. Name it and then restore anything that you had to crop. Then it should be OK.

Hi, gtanzer,

In addition to Lyn's things to check, you may also like to check out the Adobe PageMaker Support Knowledgebase:

"Errors Using Build Booklet in PageMaker 6.x Troubleshooting Guide"

Your error message "An error occurred in Build Booklet. 'Invalid state for requested operation.' Error number: 7215" with PM6.5 on the Mac is listed there.

Big John, thanks for the note, back, I had already tried that. That is what drove me to find another place for information. I have been using Pagemaker for over 15 years.
Eggles - thanks so much for the information, I tried it, by deleting everything on all the pages, including the masterpage, then created the booklet, and again it happened, I got the 7125 error but I discover the culprit...
I took only 4 pages from it, and and for some strange reason it had a masterpage in the file that was not being used for those 4 pages, and when I made the booklet it applied that master page, very strange. As soon as I deleted that master page, it worked.
SOLUTION: Test by removing a masterpage, especially one that is not used often in the file. That solve my problem.
Thanks gentleman

Thanks for that, and thanks for letting us know.
