I'm asking this question possibly for a second time but I am still stumped as to what to do. Here is the situation and what I have done:

On starting PM7, the splash screen appears at which the cursor becomes a watch on which the hands ARE moving. Nothing further happenes with the splash screen.

However, remote folders begin to appear on my desktop which are located on my print server. They are "hot" folders that the RIP software watches. We send Postscript printer files to them based on the plate we need.

After they all appear, nothing further happens.

I have tried removing every and all mention to PM7 (not plugins for other software) and re-installing. I tried to reinstall OS 9.2.1 but was given the error (on boot from CD) that the installer would not run on this computer.

This computer was upgraded from 10.2 by me so I don't have a 9.2.2 disk to reinstall.

And before you say it, I have ID CS, I like it and use it a lot. But I have customers that still use PM and ID can mess up the layout in some cases when converting.

Hi, kylebellamy

I tried to reinstall OS 9.2.1
I know very little about the finer points of a Mac, but your OS may not support PM7.

Here's the system requirements for PM Mac.

• PowerPC® processor
• Mac OS 9.1 or Mac OS X (Classic mode only)
• 30MB of available RAM (45MB recommended)
• 150MB of available hard-disk space for installation (200MB recommended)
• 800x600 monitor resolution with 8-bit/256 colors (24-bit, high-resolution screen display recommended)
• CD-ROM drive
• For Adobe PostScript printers: Adobe PostScript Level 2 or later

This page in the PM Support KB - Troubleshooting System Errors or Freezes in PageMaker 7.x for Mac OS also fails to refer to OS9.2.1

Ask in the AdobeForums PM Mac - someone there will be more clued up than me.

I've been to the Adobe forums with no sucess. Aparently there are a whole bunch of problems that can range over many different issues in reguards to using PM7 in Classic(os 9). I was just hoping that somebody here might have an idea.

Sorry I can't offer more help. But then I've stayed with Windows 2000 because of all the problems I see in the AdobeForums between PageMaker (and other older Adobe applications) and WinXP
