I have run into another problem with OS X that I wondered if anybody had an idea for.

I have files that are in PM 6.5 from a PC customer that are not recognized by PM. I've used MacLinkPlus to check them and it says they are PM files but when I double click them, I get the choose application dialog. I go to the PM folder and the program is greyed out so I can't choose it.

Next I go into PM and use the Open dialog, navigate to the folder where the files are and they don't appear. The only solution I can find is to boot into 9.2 and then I can open and save them as PM 7 files where they work fine after booting back to OS X.

Thanks in andvance.

Hi, kylebellamy,

I'm not a PM Mac user, but I think you've worked it out for yourself.

The heavy weight PM Mac users can be found at in the PM Mac Forum. You'll need to register to ask a question.

That is a solution but with 50 jobs a day, I can't sit there waiting for the stupid thing to boot back and forth everytime I have a file that isn't showing up. Thanks for the link though and I'll try that out.

Just a quick thought, have you tried changing the .p65 extension to .pmd
I think you will still have to open pagemaker first and use the Open dialog because it is converting a pc file to mac.
