pagemaker 7.0.1 cannot open pm6.5 file

I am using pm 7.0.1 and have been sent a pm 6.5 file.
when trying to open the file i get this error message:-

cannot open file
8009:16404

and then,

cannot open file 8009:6602

I'm guessing the file is corrupt, but i've been looking on the net, Does anyone have a list of error message codes?

Unfortunately, a GOOGLE for this error message produced no results.

AFAIK there is no list of PM error message codes available anywhere - though there is a list of postscript errors at the prepress website.

Do you know someone locally with 6.5? I suggest you see if they can open the file and resave under another name and resend it to you. Maybe your service bureau or a local graphic artist acquaintence?

But entering in 8009 into the PM KB search produces this!

So it's in the Mac equivalent of the 'Troubleshooting corrupt PM docs'. Never thought of that from the original post. Clever lad.
