On my Mac I keep getting error 1 and 2 errors. I can be using the headers at top such as printing then selecting a paper size and it will quit pagemaker. Or selecting a new library, etc. I have allocated more memory for Pagemaker (34 mb) to be exact and the computer has 112 mb. What can be the problem?

Hi

Type 1 and type 2 errors are memory errors on the mac. So there is something wrong with your memory management. Rebuilding your desktop on a startup could solve your problem. Otherwise empty the PRAM memeory several times.
If this doesn't work the probelm could be with the use of your memory. Check the apple icon on the left of your menubar and see how much the computer already uses. If it close to your 112 mb you should increase the virtual memory in your memory control panel.
Another possibility is that you just upgraded to OS 9.1, if so then you must reinstall Your pagemaker.

Hope this solves it

Hey there,

error 2 is normally associated with a conflict in the extensions.
Starten with extensions off (holding shift pressed until splash screen appears) and checking, if the error still occurs should give some indication.
Is everything working fine with extensions off, you'll have to check your extensions "manually" by turning them on/off to find the culprit.

Hope that helps,

Hi, I am having a similar problem with PM 6.5. I am creating an index for the first time, and it crashes every few minutes. I am running 256 mg RAM, on a 1.03 gig system. I have PM7.0 but didn't want to install it until I finished this project, (a 230 pg. book). If anyone has any immediate help it would be greatly appreciated. email me, send smoke signals, beat a drum, anything. I am desperate.
