Pagefile usage..

I hv Windows 200 box with SP4 installed.
Hardware is

Intel Xeon 3.66 GHZ, 8GB ram and

Have pagefile created on
C:\512MB
D:\ 4GB

Usage of the physical memory is 20-30%

I have a problem with the pagefile on c:\ drive and it goes to 95-100% usaually where my physical memory usage is just 20%.

CAn anybody clear my confusion here...i heard pagefile comes in picture only when physical memory get overutilized..

Check your task manager/performance monitor for page faults. If the system is caching memory, then a lot of times it goes to the pagefile. You may need to adjust the cache
