The display on the desktop is correct, however upon opening up to the Internet IE page views are so small you can not read them. Even opening help files are small tiny words.
If you write in word things are fine if you open up help file small tiny words..............
I have had no fortune finding the cause of this. any ideas???

Try resizing the page under IE.

Open IE and drag the top, bottom, left and right sides to the size you want.

Hold down the Ctrl key and click the Red X to close the IE session.

Reopen IE -- did it restore to the size you specified?

See if any of these are useful?

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP (Q318378)

You can reinstall IE in Windows XP by clicking Start, Run and entering the following command:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

(where c: is your Windows drive).

You will need to have your XP CD available. If you re-install remember to update it.

Using SFC /Scannow at the command prompt will help in repairing IE.

I think you'll only need to go to the View menu in IE and readjust the text size...

bcastner, It is hard to explain I did a print screen image of it but can not get it place in this mail. It is not the window it is the actual print in the window.

linney, I looked at all the great threads. I could not get the repair of XP to work. However can I just go through add and remove, and uninstall IE and then reload just IE off a disk?

Just to be clear, under IE, View, Text Size does not let you adjust this?

Ctrl-key, scroll wheel on your mouse, does this help?

The only repair/uninstall options for IE6 are those mentioned above or you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP (Q315341)

The Add or Remove (windows components) Repair/uninstall option for IE6 will only repair shortcuts on the Quick Launch, Start Menu and Desktop, it will not uninstall it. One day when we have IE 6.5 or 7 that option will be more useful as you will then have an older version of IE on the machine to make it work like it did with older operating systems in the past.

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).
