Hi Everyone,

i have built a report and trying to display the totala on a column(payment) page wise. but failed in all the attempts to put it through. i have dropped in the query calculation and expressed it as running total, but could not come with good results.

what is the solution to get it done. and one more question on this report is, if we have the prompt optional and we create a calculation so that if the prompt is selected then display the results based on that prompt. when i ran the report the prompt turned out to be mandatory. i want it optional though i have condition on it.

how can i get the above 2 issues done,

And the Cognos application you are using is....?

i'm using cognos 8 RTM version. i have tried it using the list page footer too, but didn't have any luck. can someone explain me in detail steps thanks.

For prompt to be options go to its properties and select optional.
