Hello all,

I have automatic page numbering on in InDesign.
However, the page numbers are falling behind all the art and colored boxes on the actual pages? You can not grab them to bring to front and art is already sent to the back? Any ideas???

Thanks!

Found the answer......

Use Layers effectively in InDesign and here is where they really come in handy.

Select your Master Page in the Pages panel and then open the Layers panel. Make a new Layer on top of the layer (or layers) that everything else is on. Rename the layer "Master Page Items." Move the page number text boxes to this new, top layer. Now, before you do any more design on the inside pages, you should make sure your original layer is selected and you might even lock the new Master Page Items layer. Now choose one of your inside pages from your Pages panel. From now on your page numbers will be on top of everything else on the inside spreads as long as you design on the layers below.
