Page Header plus Page Footer too Large Error

Good morning,

I'm having an issue with a report where I have placed a page-sized background image with a couple shapes and designs in the page header. I have selected the box to underlay the following sections. However, when I put fields in the page footer, I get an error message that the "Page Header plus the Page Footer is too large for the page."

One "fix" I've tried is to crop the page-sized background image by about an inch so that I do not get the "PH and PG too large for page" error. This works except that when I export the report to a PDF and print it, the background image in the page header which is mostly supposed to be white actually comes out a little darker than the white paper it is printed on. The page footer comes out with no background image since I cropped the image in the PH so that I wouldn't get the error any more. So, the page footer section is super white and contrasts with the rest of the page which shows up as shades darker even though it's all supposed to be white.

Is there a way I can keep from having to crop the background image so it will overlay the page footer and not give me the error?

Please advise me on a solution and thank you in advance for your help.

You can't underlay the page footer, but depending upon your report layout, you might be able to use a group footer section set to print at the bottom of the page to act as a page footer. Then suppress the page footer section.

lbass,

I tried to do the group footer section set to print at the bottom of the page, but it doesn't work with my report layout. I have multiple groups that span several pages with groups running over from one page to the next. This is the preferred layout.

I suppose I will have to be content with the offcolored page footer.

Thank you, lbass. You are always very helpful.

Maybe in the section expert you could color the page footer to match the page header color.
