Would anyone know what I need to do to create a phone directory which would pull the first and last {Name.Last_Name} field from each page to be placed in the header of each page. This would be similar to what you see in the header of the phone book. Page one would say AARON - ACE and Page two would say ACHER - ADAMS etc...(depending on what falls on each page).
Thanks
Julie

First is easy, last is just near immpossible. CR can't know the end of the page at the beginning.

If you can create a formula that allows you to group the report one group per page, you can use summary fields that calculate Min and Max for the group. This usually isn't workable, because there is no formula you can write in advance that will come out correctly. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

Ken I'm glad to see your post. I was quite intriged by this post as the old brain gears started to spin. I had the first one up easy just by putting the name field in the group. The next I sat there searching thru functions playing with the Maximium() function trying to figure out how to group it. after 30 or so minutes I had decided it was not possible (least with my limited knowledge) Feeling like a failure I came back to post that I did not feel it could be done. I see your post now I don't feel so disheartened.
