I have a report that gives an itemized receipt of donations. The main report displays the name and address info, and a subreport displays any items donated within the time frame of the report. There is a report header in the subreport that shows the titles "Donation Date" & "Item". It will display on the first page of the main report, but I can't figure out how to get the same header to display if the items on the donation go onto additional pages.

In other words, if the main report is more than 1 page, each additional page should display the titles "Donation Date" & Item.

Since this is one report with multiple donors/records that are pulled up:

1. if I use report header and put the titles in it it only displays on the first page of the main report.

2. if I use page header I can add the setting of the header to "Not with Rpt Hdr" in the main report properties, but this only eliminates the titles from the first page of the main report.

3. if I use the page header in the subreport, it only works if the list of donation items is longer than 1 page of the subreport.

I think the answer is in sorting and grouping, but I can't figure it out.

There are no page sections or events in subreports. You can mimic a page header by creating a primary sorting level based on a constant value like:
=1
Display the =1 header and set its "Repeat Section" property to Yes. This will be your subreport's page header section.

How and where do I assign it a "constant value?" Do I use a text box, or one of the sections on the subreport?

Use the constant in the first sorting and grouping level in the subreport's sorting and grouping dialog:
=1
