I need to add the word 'CONFIDENTIAL' to the page header and footer of a crosstab report. The report is 3 pages wide and many pages long.
I attempted two solutions from the crystal Knowledge Base. One involved dragging copies of the text field to the 'virtual pages'. This did not work. The text disappeared from the text box when I dragged it to the virtual page.
The other method was to add a formula which contains the text I need, and make it the first Column field in the crosstab format. This worked OK, but I really need the text at the top of the page, and the bottom. This solution didn't do either.
If anyone has a solution, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Here is the REAL workaround.

Find a database field that will be the same throughout the report. If one isn't available create a formula field that will be the same throughout the report. I often take a numeric field and subtract it from itself to get a constant 0 throughout the report.

Add a group to the report on this field/formula, making it the primary group. This Group Header will behave like a Report Header, because all the records are in one group.

But it will print within the page header and page footer of the report. Use your PH and PF to print "confidential". Ken Hamady

I tried this and it really didn't change anything. Maybe I didn't make my question clear. The trick is to get the word "CONFIDENTIAL" at the top and bottom of the 'virtual pages' to the right. Everything in the page header and page footer gets repeated on the vertical page changes, but the virtual pages get only the cross-tab itself, which is in the report footer.

I guess I wasn't clear. When I said the GH will behave like a RH, I meant move the Cross-tab to the new GH, or in your case, the new GF, which will behave just like the RF. Ken Hamady
