I have an issue that has completly preplexed me. We have a FTP site that some people can access and other people can not access. The FTP server is behind a router but the router is not blocking port 20 or 21. The FTP site is on a server with an internal ip address that is being nated to an external address on the router. Everyone behind the router can only access the FTP site using the internal address and not the external address but they can access every other site on the internet without any issues. Some people on the outside of the router can access the FTP site while others can not access it. The FTP site was working until the server was shut down for maintenece. All cables were placed back were they orgianlly were and nothing changed from the time the system was powered down to after it was turned back on. When the users click to show FTP site in windows explorer they get "a connection with the server could not be established", when they use the command prompt they get "connection refused". Since some people can access the site I have to assume the issue is with the workstation and not the server. Is there something I am overlooking? They are using IE7 as well.
