Hi,

In my report i have grouped the data into 3 groups:-
1) UnitCost
2) Staff Code
3) Job#

My problem is, the report will page break when it hits a new unit cost. My client is wants to save paper very much that she insists that the following group of unit cost be printed on the same page when there is enough space.

Please help me, how do i page break only when there is not enough space to print on the current page.
Please Advice.

Which version of Crystal?

Assuming Crystal 8.5, right-click on the group and select [Change Group]. If you have checked [Keep Group Together], uncheck it.

If it isn't checked, right-click and select [Format Section]. Look at [Keep Together] and the [New Page ...] options. Do this for all sections until you find the explanation.

Note that you can set formulas against these options, as well as making them unconditionally on or off.

Hi Again,

Thanks Madawc for your help.

This time when i tried to export to excel my report is exported successfully but the date field just display ########

Formula used for the date in CR :-
pwformatdate(tonumber(mid({?FRMTHYR}, 3,4) & mid({?FRMTHYR},1,2) & "01"))

Can somebody please help!!!!!

Hashes mean the field is too small to display the value. Try expanding it a bit.

The same thing can happen on Crystal. You can increase the width, which is the simplest solution. Or you can right-click and choose [Format Field], then choose the number tab and say 'Allow Field Clipping', which means that outsize values will get truncated.

For alpha fields, you can also choose a 'can grow' option that will allow text to extend itself onto a second or third line when this is needed.

I did increase the size but no effect.
The field is a date field not number so i can use the "field clipping" method.

Actually the field is a formula which uses the input parameter which is string and format it to a date eg.(Mar 2003)

Pls help!!!
