I have two different Windows 2003 standard servers, both running Intel dual CPU motherboards with 4gb of RAM. The motherboard bios page shows all 4gb of ram, but the Windows system page only shows 3gb of installed RAM. According to Intel and Microsoft, due to the architecture of the motherboard, I need to add the /PAE switch to the startup line in my Boot.ini file for all the RAM to be accessible to Windows.

Has anybody else used this /PAE switch?

Has it caused you any isues?

Thanks.

That is correct to access the additional memory you need to add the /PAE switch. If you install Windows 2003 SP1 or higher it "should" activate the physical address extensions automatically.
