I am creating a form and I want a set of checkboxes in a div to be indented on teh form. Should I alter padding or margin?Does the answer have something to do with background colour maybe?

Imagine a box with 'something' in it.

Padding is the space between the something and the edges of the box.

Margin is the space around the box itself.

So, if you set padding then you'll see any background colour applied to the box.

Which you use depends on what you want to do.
